Sensible Sentencing Group Trust v Human Rights Commission

Simon represented the Director of Human Rights Proceedings in the Director’s claim against the Sensible Sentencing Trust for breach of the Privacy Act. On 25 June 2014 the Court of Appeal dismissed the SST’s appeal from the Director’s successful application to strike out an application for judicial review. Subsequently the claim in the Human Rights Review Tribunal was settled on the basis that the SST acknowledged breaching the Privacy Act.
